Clyde, Whoah...that's a lot to remember. The info on the types of fats is often not available, or unclear.
How about 1 cup Haagen Daaz a day and we'll call it even? :)
Seems a little complicated and hard to track. I eat some black walnuts for breakfast, cold-smoked salmon for lunch once or twice a week, some ice cream here or there, canola oil stir frying something, etc. Not easy figuring out what's what. Lloyd
ANSWER: I agree completely. It is not practical to determine exactly how much of each type of fat one is eating. However, if two-thirds of your fats are coming from plant sources (avocado, seeds, nuts, soy, vegetable oil, olives) and no more than one-third from animals and animal products (meats, dairy, egg yolks), and at least a little all or most days of omega-3 fats (salmon, sardines, walnuts, soy, canola) and roughly one quarter to one-third of your daily calories are fats you are on target. The exact amounts do not matter. I would say that with 1 cup of Haagen Daaz a day we could call it even and with 1/2 cup Haagen Daaz we could call it less than even (i.e. a bit of body fat loss).
